Nice update. Version 2.0 is very efficient to work on and the tabbed views really help productivity.

Still Python 2.7, not sure why they bothered with the big app update if it still relies on the 5 year old version of Python.

Just be careful you dont mess anything up when you transition to Pythonista 3 ;)

A thoughtful, complete, powerful Python development Environment for iOS. I used this app, in conjunction with Mark Lutzs Learning Python book to become very comfortable programming with Python. This app provides Python 2.7x, which at this time is preferable to the latest 3.x series (if you read Lutz carefully). The App is a Labour-of-love by a brilliant programmer. Well worth your time if you are seriously interested in Python, or exploring iOS programming and automation.

I have rated this app five stars in the past but we are beyond the point where a Py3 migration should have happened. The 2.0 release was a perfect opportunity wasted. I will no longer use or support this app until it transitions to Python 3.

If the developers can get full scipy (matplotlib and numpy) support to work, this will truly be a killer scientific platform for data acquisition and processing. Imagine the analyses one could perform in the field on just an iPhone let alone an iPad. I do understand that its in the works. Heres two hands up in response to "who wants scipy for iOS?" UPDATE: I am overjoyed that matplotlib and numpy are now available. HOWEVER I am disappointed that my iPad 1 running iOS 5 cannot run the latest version now. I do have 1.4 running on it and it was one of the last things that make my old iPad 1 still useful. UPDATE 2.0: New release is AWESOME. Advice to the developers: dont EVER go so long between releases again. Even a bug fix release demonstrates that theres ongoing development. Otherwise people start to think the product is dead and abandoned.

This app is worth your money, especially if you work with Python on the go. It is also a great tool to learn with.

iOS should come with this stock. That simple. If you write code, you can do all sorts of useful things with your iOS device that you cant do any other way. Good forum community, active engaged developer, whats not to like?

It is hard to believe that an app like Pythonista can exist on iOS. The app puts the full power of Python at your fingertips on both your iPhone and iPad. The customizations for iOS are phenomenal and make this app a must-have for anyone interested in Python and automation on iOS. I am delighted by version 2.0 and look forward to future releases. My only request would be a version that supports Python 3. I know that’s a challenge, and this app gets the full five stars for the amazing functionality it has, but for me, Python 3 would save me some time because I use Python 3 on my Mac and converting scripts to Python 2 can sometimes be a chore. The developer should win an award for making such a powerful app. Thank you!

This is an amazing app and its really great for testing out bits of Python code but it really suffers from lack of Split View support and the ability to import .py files from other apps. Add them please!

I absolutely love this app. I have recently gotten into Python and have been looking for ways to code away from my computer. All the other apps have horrible quality. This one is great and easy to navigated.

I love Pythonista. It has completely revolutionized the way I work on the iPad. I use it for basic iOS automation and to write programs to control Amazon Web Services resources with boto3.

Pythonista is one of the best pieces of software that currently exist for any platform. Its presence on iOS is of particular value, since there are scant few programmer tools available for the platform. It is also a great educational tool.

Pythonista is one of the best apps I have ever seen...I would like to suggest to add more modules( like scipy,...) in a way that if one wants to have a specified module, he/she could just install it( not included in the main app). Update 2.0: This update is extraordinary...

The 2.0 update brought an amazing number of upgrades to the best iOS Python IDE! I use this to prototype scripts for my production environment, as well as for my hobby projects on the side. This plus Working Copy means I can check everything into version control without any problems. Completely worth it.

Very well designed application

Was a great app already for putting code down quickly when I didnt have my computer. With the new update its now even better. Many subtle, smart changes have made the app even cleaner and easier to work with.

My one request would be that support for split-view be added. Its more than occasionally that I want to have Safari showing me documentation on the right while I type the code in Pythonista on the left.

Easily the best app on my phone. Buy it.
