Ive been waiting a long time for a tool like this. Highly recommended if you need to write scripts in Python or would like to learn the language. The lack of syncing with Dropbox is actually an Apple restriction. However, it is possible to write something that interfaces with Dropbox and the Editor which will provide the same functionality.

Best Python development app on the iPad

I use "python math" app before for testing some concept I thinking about in the bus and train. "Pythonista" app is really better and have incredibly more features. Hope the developpement of this app continue forever with more nice features ( like showing line number option).

Would be 5star if numpy, matplotlib and pandas are added

I was able to write a count down timer in less than an hour using the Stopwatch as an example. Easy to use and fun to interact with. The documentation could use some improvement though. Took me a long time to figure out that scene.tint didnt effect scene.render_text. The colour is applied when the text image is placed in the scene.

Powerful and great IDE. Its definetly worth every cent that I spent on this app. I would certainly pay for a Python 3 version. Sehr gut, Ole :)

Pythonista has excellent code completion, syntax highlighting, great libraries designed for iOS, and a great user interface. This new version of a Pythonista is designed for iOS 7 and works superbly on it. It also brings a welcome update to Python 2.7.5. With the previous versions iOS 7 issues fixed, Pythonista is now once again the best Python IDE for iOS!

I looked a long time to find a good python app. I love it that you can adjust the font size and line spacing. Very helpful if vision isnt perfect. The samples are also great learning tools. Thanks!!

Finally something cool for Python guys. Exactly what I need. Amazing environment implementation. Dropbox support would be super.

This App is fantastic. A real live self-contained IDE and execution environment on the iPhone & iPad. If you dont know Python, this App is worth learning the language for. Until Apple gives us Xcode for iPad... Pythonista is a great substitute.

After looking throughout the App Store for an app to compile Python, I am not disappointed. This app is an amazing compiler for Python that not only does the job great but also has examples of completed codes and a guide to elements of Python. Great find!

This is an outstanding app! everything works flawlessly and runs programs perfectly. no issues with crashes (iPad 3) and integrates perfectly with external keyboards! this app was done right from the get go! keep up the good work!

This application will let you finally get on with real productivity - Im talking about the engineer and the scientists that can finally do so much with an ipad - that normally requires a workstation and a myriad of libraries to begin. There are no compromises here. You will feel as though you are in a fully integrated environment that just makes everything work. This version includes the numpy and matplotlib packages. There is a perfect balance in completeness and neatness and every feature is a feature that you will appreciate. App includes all standard documentation and provides a very useable reading mode within the app - which probably couldnt be better rendered in any 3red party app. All standard documentation is included (Python, NumPy, MatplotLib, SymPy). Perfection is when nothing further can be taken away, and this application symbolizes this philosophy.

Amazing and simple API for touch controls and graphics, great selection of library images, context help and documentation. Guys, you rock! But, there would be still some requests, for example any sync options. Or, is there implementation of API for desktop with mouse?

A learning environment should be clean and simple and fun. Pythonista is all that and more. Where else can I learn touch interface techniques so easily. I cant wait to see what they will be able to add to this environment once iOS 8 is released with its new more open architecture.

This is seriously an awesome app!! I have just started learning Python to help make my Workflows even better and this app really couldn’t make it any easier. Thank you!! My only issue with it is that there is doesn’t seem to be a share-extension for the app which is extremely annoying because it means that I can’t open up my python scripts if they are in another app (Good Reader) or email. PLEASE ADD SHARING-EXTENSION!!!! But seriously well done :)
