Nice update. Very efficient to work on and the tabbed views really help productivity.

I just recently purchased this and it was well worth the $9.99, and more. It includes almost every module I need to accomplish what I need to get done, plus some iOS exclusive ones which are pretty fun to play with. Two things: I would love to see project syncing via iCloud since I use this on both of my iPads and my iPhone, and maybe the ability to use outside-iOS UI development via other Python modules. That said, this is the absolute best app for Python development!
Pythonista has spoiled me, because now I wish every language I write in had such a lovely and usable iOS implementation. When I need to sketch out an idea or write up a proof of concept for an algorithm, Ive come to love being able to put down the laptop and go sit on a couch or outside at the park and hack away on my iPad mini. The minis form factor in particular is perfect for this, and Pythonistas keyboard extension and auto-completion make typing almost as fast as on a real keyboard. And to the extent that typing is slower, the slightly reduced pace, plus the more monotasking-friendly UI of the iPad makes the practice almost meditative. I have exactly one complaint: why oh why is the keyboard extension missing a shortcut for %, of all things?
Not much to say except awesome! Great app, nice libraries, and great for learning... Honestly better than Python on my desktop computer. More intuitive. Only thing that can be better is if you add Tkinter and pygame! Other than that, great! :) Update: How can I manually transfer documents to/from computer? Its really frustrating...
Pythonista is used at my school as an introduction to programming and is lots of fun. I have really enjoyed using it and it helped me realize that I want to pursue a career in technology and specifically programming and math.
A thoughtful, complete, powerful Python development Environment for iOS. I used this app, in conjunction with Mark Lutzs Learning Python book to become very comfortable programming with Python. This app provides Python 2.7x, which at this time is preferable to the latest 3.x series (if you read Lutz carefully). The App is a Labour-of-love by a brilliant programmer. Well worth your time if you are seriously interested in Python, or exploring iOS programming and automation.
Really awesome app for Python on the go. I really appreciate that the publisher allowed upgrade pricing for owners of Pythonista 2. You guys are world class!
An absolutely great Python IDE. And its on your phone. In your pocket.
A very well-polished app, and definitely worth the $5. Hope it gets updated with more features in the future, it really needs the ability to let definitions in the source file reflect on the interactive interpreter (so you can define classes in the source pane and try them out in the repl) and the ability to split projects into multiple source files.
Its nice to work with this app. Nothing more to say.
The extended keyboard and its shortcuts is really what it makes great. The extensive library of images and sounds are a bonus I didnt even considerd being included. Awesome! Now going back to make my first game in python :)
Great IDE for Python on iOS! A switch to Python3 would be great :-)
Well designed, no clutter and very functional!
Great app! Well documented, looks nice, powerful modules. I wish I had the same on my desktop.
By far the best app I have seen so far for iPhone! Why? The way its designed: clear, nice and with extreme attention to detail esp. usability. That is not only fun to work with but saves you lots of time. Examples: the additional character keyboard (alone very helpful) serves to fine-tune the cursor between letters; the built in markdown code preview not only from code within pythonista but also from the clipboard so that I can easily use that from other apps; many other. And its simply mind blowing that with Pythonista, I can learn Python (full reference built in, no Internet connection needed, with powerful search) wherever I am and write my own scripts for iPhone (and my linux laptop) to optimize my workflow. Thus, this app is worth much more than it actually costs, real bargain. Thank you, Ole! Few things on my wish list, mainly support of WebDAV to get rid of iTunes/iCloud.
The App is great and I like the usability! The only feature I miss are some data analysis libraries like pandas, numpy, scipy, matplotlib etc.. Maybe you can add those in the future.
Python Fun On The ipad!
Many thanks for providing this App, really helps
My python code now runs on the iPhone like a charm... even Sockets! Great iOS specific modules included: I was about to ask for implementation of Tkinter... but, what the heck! Scene is even better! Definitely the best app Ive ever bought (for 6 bucks its a gift). Great job, guys!
Travel back in time and see what life was like in days of Python 2. Or skip this one for an app that actually runs Python 3.
